We are proud to hold dual certification with the world’s leading forest certification schemes and Kaingaroa Tipu (FSC-C004143) is committed to managing our forests to these high standards. This is recognised through the achievement of the following management certification:
- Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®)
- Responsible Wood; NZ Standard for Sustainable Forest Management (NZS), which is endorsed by the Program for Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC®).
FSC® and PEFC® are the leaders in sustainable forest management verification, operating the world’s most rigorous and trusted forest certification systems. Every day, we strive to exceed these certification requirements.
In New Zealand, anyone seeking FSC® certification must meet the National Standard for Certification of Plantation Forest Management (FSC-STD-NZL-01-2012 New Zealand Plantations EN).
We are an active member of the FSC®, and our involvement extends to participating in FSC® General Assemblies, being part of the NZ FSC® Standard Development Group .
In addition to our FSC® certification, KT is certified to NZS AS 4708 / PEFC Responsible Wood NZ Standard: Sustainable Forest Management for our management of the Kaingaroa Forest Estate and our nurseries.
