Access our forests
Our forests are multi-hazard working sites.
Commercial forests are multi-hazard work sites. Access must be carefully managed to ensure the safety of our kaimahi (workers) and recreational permit holders.
Access may be closed to all or parts of our forests at short notice during periods of high risk. This includes forest operations, elevated fire danger levels or extreme winds.
Anyone wishing to access our forests must have an Access Permit and follow our General Forest Access Rules & Safety Behaviours. Permit holders are given information about hazards and other special access conditions.
Access without a valid permit will result in a Trespass Notice.
