Te Waihou Plantations are commercial forests managed by Kaingaroa Tipu and Manulife Investment Management Forest Management (NZ) Ltd. Manulife undertakes forestry operations across the wider area and manages certain roads within the estate. Access is controlled to keep those working in the forests safe.
Te Waihou Plantations have site-specific operating, access and permit requirements for anyone working in or travelling through the estate. These requirements help keep forestry operations safe and coordinated across areas managed by Kaingaroa Tipu and Manulife.
Contractors must read the Te Waihou Site Specific Operational Manual and complete any applicable permit, induction, radio access or site access requirements before entering the estate. Kaingaroa Tipu’s Minimum Standards for Contractors continue to apply across all Kaingaroa Tipu operations at Te Waihou.
Commercial Operations
Entry to Te Waihou Plantations is by permit only. An updated Kaingaroa Tipu business permit is required for all operations on KT land only.
A Manulife permit is required when operating on, or accessing, Manulife-managed land. The operational manual explains how to access the correct permits.
