Why choose Kaingaroa Tipu?

There are diverse job opportunities across our business from foresters managing contractors in our forests to data scientists in our technical team and everything in between. There are several locations associated with our forestry management operations including our main office, the Kaingaroa Processing Plant (KPP), the Murupara Log Yard and tree nurseries. Together these sites offer a vast range of forestry, technical, administration and health and safety roles that take many of our people into the heart of the forest every day.

Even though we are one of the largest forestry management companies in New Zealand, we know the little things matter too. We share a weekly company-wide morning tea, and you will often find our team enjoying the neighbouring Whakarewarewa Forest trails during their lunch break. A Barista coffee machine, car parks, bike sheds, and amenities such as showers and lockers are all available at our main office.

Building better pathways

We actively support education and training initiatives, including building career pathways through our rolling scholarship programme. Every year Kaingaroa Tipu sponsors students in their training towards a forestry related discipline through the Kaingaroa Tipu Kaitiaki o Ngahere Scholarship.

We also support university students during their semester breaks by providing work experience in various areas of our business.

We provide specific support and sponsorship of PhD and Master level studies directly linked with our forests.

This includes studies on falcon, other birds, bats and invertebrates and the effectiveness of pest control on biodiversity.

Every year Kaingaroa Tipu supports a cohort of students through The Generation Programme where young people are trained to become work ready with a forestry focus.

We host learning sessions for the local Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology students and some local school students.

We have sponsored learning materials and school resources for many local schools.
